Taking something boring and making it a bit more interesting is always a creative thing to do outside of the standard photos you might take.

This photograph was originally a picture of two egg shells. It took me a while to come up with an idea for this particular task as eggs are not the most exciting thing to photograph.

I take a lot of inspiration for the photographs I take from the songs that I listen to. I like to take a meaning from a song and try to adapt that meaning in to an image. Whilst I was staring at this boring picture of two egg shells I was listening to a song called "stay." Its hard to say what a songs about when you were not the one who wrote it but how I heard it is that it surrounds the theme of distance and really wanting to be with someone who isn't there and wanting them to wait for you until the time is right.

This is what I tried to capture within this image. I used the curves setting to make the background much darker and used the gradient brush to create that lighting effect within the egg shells.

As this was a last minute idea to edit, I was searching through what I had saved on my computer from when I designed some posters and came across these two silhouettes of a man and a women. I placed these within the egg shells and I feel they really capture the venerable feeling when you want to be with someone you can't. I then added a gradient layer to give the over all image that glow to match the lighting within the egg shells, this mage the egg shells blend with the background a bit more.
