I thought that I would give a quick update on my songs to snap challenge. Although I haven't been blogging my progress lately, the challenge that I have set myself is still going. So here I the photos that I took for the months of March, April and May and where the inspiration came from:

March

"The pill I keep taking, the nightmare I'm waking There's nothing, no nothing, nothing but you My perfect rock bottom My beautiful trauma" - Beautiful Trauma - Pink

At the beginning of the year, I did a post on what other photography genres I wanted to explore more (https://emmamages.wixsite.com/emmedia/blog-1/photography-genres-i-want-to-explore-more). One of those genres was music photography. In March, a local tribute band asked if I could take photos at one of their gigs and I agreed. They were a Pink tribute band called "Beautiful Trauma" and I thought it would be perfect to use one of the shots I took that night for that months songs to snap challenge. I've still got a long way to go with this genre. A lot of the photos came out grainy and I'm still struggling with the poor lighting that a lot of music venues tend to have but the shots are still an improvement from the first gig I ever photographed! So I'm seeing that as progress.

April

"You lift me up, take my feet off the ground With just one look, it's like you've got me now" - Closer, Faster - Against the Current

The UK has been blessed with some gorgeous weather lately. This always puts me in the mood to take photos. The inspiration for this image came from past memories. I always feel there are songs out there that when you listen to it, it takes you back to a particular time. Against the Current are one of my favourite bands and Closer, Faster is my all time favourite song of theirs. The reason behind this is because it takes me back to the summer of 2013 - arguably the best summer I've ever had. I was 17, I went to loads of festivals where the weather was hot and the only worries that I had was that I tanned unevenly. I also really connect with the lyrics to this song. I went through something that summer that I'm never going to forget and this song reminds me of that time. The photo that I have chosen to go with this song is a simple picture of the sky to remind me of the summer time.

May

"Oh please, say to me You'll let me be your man And please, say to me You'll let me hold your hand" - I Want to Hold Your Hand - The Beatles

I went to Liverpool this month for a couple of days so of course my songs to snap image had to be a Beatles song. This photo is quite self explanatory, if you want to read more about what I did in Liverpool, I documented my time there and talked more in depth about The Beatles and the Cavern Club in my last blog post - https://emmamages.wixsite.com/emmedia/blog-1/day-in-the-life-of-a-concert-freak-liverpool

The reason I chose the song I Want to Hold Your Hand is purely because it's my favourite Beatles song and one of the support acts of the concert I went to whilst I was there sang a cover version.

So yeah those are my challenge images for the last 3 months! I will probably update on my challenge as when I get round to it. These posts are supposed to be quick and snappy (see what I did there..) just to update on how I'm doing. I'm going to come up with some more ideas for next months challenge as right now I have absolutely no idea what I will be doing for it!
